Junior Leader Training 2016

3 of the Junior Leaders that ran our GIG Bake Off

If you made it out to church on Sunday, you will have heard from 3 of our junior leaders. Jess, Eve & Ryan have completed 2 OCN qualifications in 'Practical Youth Ministry Skills' and 'Diversity and Good Relations'.

For 10 weeks, these 3 leaders joined with others from Knock Presbyterian, Saintfield Road Presbyterian and St Colmcille's Parish to develop both their leadership skills and also their awareness of other traditions and faiths that can be found in Northern Ireland.

The course was filled with lots of really good activities which demonstrated and taught good practise in areas of communication & organisation. As part of the course, they had to organise and run their own night within the church. So our 3 ran a 'Bake Off' over the half term holidays. It was a great success and there were some great cakes baked (and also some horrible ones). Everyone had a great time and the guys did a great job in making it run smooth for the teenagers to enjoy.

It's so exciting to see our senior GIG members taking leadership seriously and taking part in these courses to develop their skills. We are incredibly blessed to have so many young people who are gifted in various  ways, and we look forward to seeing Jess, Eve and Ryan continue to lead among our teenagers at Granshaw.
